Big Hands at Little Hands

One of the things we love about our adult courses here at Little Hands Design is the variety of people and abilities that keep coming back for more! We have absolute beginners who have never even threaded a needle before, to experienced dressmakers who want to perfect their finishes and tailoring techniques all in the same sessions. The collaboration from both sides of the spectrum is beneficial to both skilled and beginning sewers!

Let your own creativity take the wheel! Little Hands We pride ourselves on being that a little bit different to than other sewing courses. You don’t have to make what we say, the course is totally lead by you and what you want to do create. Whether that’s demystifying dressmaking patterns, copying and remaking your favourite clothes, or making home-wares.

You can bring along your own ideas, or if you are not sure you can use one of the many projects we have collected or expertly developed here over the years.

The mix of abilities creates a fantastic atmosphere in the studio where you learn and get inspired by your fellow students just as much as you do from as well as the amazing teachers!

If you are a parent of a teenager – our classes are the perfect opportunity for some special time to share a hobby with your older child at a stage in their life when shared memories are sometimes hard to come by!

Our tailor-made studio is literally bursting at the seams with all the fabric, trimmings and equipment that can be used for your sewing projects. We sell these at a very reasonable rate, with all the proceeds going towards our bursary scheme for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Want to bring your own fabric? No problem! Or, if you prefer to source your own,  Our teachers will be able to advise you on what is best for your chosen project! All fabrics need to be pre-washed.

Sounds good so far? But don’t just take our word for it…. here’s what our current students have to say!

Current Student Testimonials

“I’ve been going to Little Hands for a few years now – I’m part of the furniture there! What I love about it is that I can create whatever I want, it’s the only place I have found that doesn’t dictate what you are making. The teacher know their stuff – they’re extremely knowledgeable & have helped me from potential fashion disasters! I have got several comments from the dresses I have made & love wearing my creations! Little Hands is brilliant! They have loads of materials to choose from including ones from Ted Baker at a very reasonable price. ” (Hollie – Student for 3 ½ years)

“Fantastic teachers & organizers who love their job and the art of sewing! Fun for adults and kids, beginners and advanced sewing lovers; just try it out, you won’t regret it!! I have been coming here for a year, made several dresses and tops/jackets as well as a number of smaller items – and I have no intention of leaving anytime soon.” (Isabelle – Student for over a year)
